I've been sick since last Tuesday. I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday and went to school on Thursday. I stay for first period English then called my mom to come get me. I was just to weak and emotional to stay the rest of the day. My mom didn't want me to go back on Friday, so I didn't. I sort of wish I had though. In English we started a project on Thursday with a partner. My friend Savannah was my partner because she was gone the last two days, too. So I feel like I let her down for not bringing the things we needed for the project. So I'm sort of scared to find out what happens on Monday, tomorrow, in English. The project is due tomorrow, too. Tomorrow I know I'll have the butterflies I had at the first day of school, I always get that feeling.
My brother went to see Untraceable with his girlfriend yesterday, he said it was good but really disgusting. I really want to see this movie. I love Diane Lane and I love these types of movies. Hmmmm.
I'm going to bed now. Even though I have to finish my science homework...I've been gone for two days. I think Mr. Rolando will let it slide. Although I'll have a bunch of homework tomorrow.
How have people pronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?
My last name is Boeckermann and people pronounce it bo-ker-man, it's really pronounced beck-er-men
I am going to HAWAII on vacation! This October! For two weeks! With my mom and grandma! I am so excited!
I've been there before when I was, like, 7 or 8 years old. My grandma has a timeshare at a hotel 3 stories high with a pool in the middle of the hotel. It was really awesome last time I went with my mom and Grandma. That time though we were only there for a week. Entirely not long enough. So For the next few months I'll be trying to find activities to do. I want to go scuba-diving and para-sailing no matter what and my mom wants to go beach hopping around the island and go see the pearl harbor thing and go on one of those glider planes. I don't know what my grandma wants to do yet soooo.....I am just SO excited!!!
In other news...On Friday we played Hockey again and since I knew more about it I got into the game more....which made me get hurt. The first time I was trying to get the puck away from the wall and my from my friend Katie who was on the opposing team. I slipped up and my feet flew in front of me. I brought Katie down with me. I hit the ice on my right butt cheek....uhh..that really hurt. The next time was the same except for I was the only one you slipped and I hit my left butt cheek and my left elbow. I got a scrap on my elbow now and I am really sore to the point it hurts to lean over in any direction. I think I'll lie down and watch tv or read..I better not feel as sore come Monday, we got more hockey!
Oh, but first I have to calculate the stuff my mom and I want to do in hawaii. It is going to cast $1,300 to actually get there.
Happy Birthday Mom!!!!
So, today is the coldest day of the year so far. -24 Fahrenheit and wind chill is -47 Fahrenheit. All the schools around are canceled. But, of course, not mine. Although we did get an excused absence if our parents didn't let us go. We do have to keep our pride for being the Icebox of the Nation, right? Let me just say, Mr. Everson and Mr. Grover: I really don't like you right know. We should of gotten out of school today....I mean we're colder than Duluth and Superior....so why not? Now I have a day of homework to make up later and I won't get to do Hockey...but at least I don't have to do the Spelling Bee which will start at first period in the Library this morning. Hey but guess what? Tomorrow is supposed to be 2 degrees colder in wind chill and 8 degrees colder than now. So maybe no school tomorrow?
I'm dreaming of Here!!!!
(note: these aren't pictures I took)
I had to babysit Friday night. I was to be there at about 5:45. I got there at 6:30. I blame my bother. We have a calender whiteboard on the side of out refrigerator. We walk by it to get to the kitchen. I would have seen it when I walked by. But it wasn't there. Nope, my brother drew all over it so I had to redo it. Did I mention me bother will be 15 in May? If he didn't scribble all over it I would have walked by it and noticed it. But it wasn't there so I didn't see it. Wendy, the person I was babysitting for, was supposed to go on a girls night with my moms friends step-daughter, I think. So when Wendy didn't show up, Chrissie called my moms friend, Linda, who called us. Our phone didn't work so Linda new my moms cell number so that was good. I was so embarrased. I got ten dollars for a little less then 2 hours, which was nice of them. So, they want me to babysit next Sunday. They are going to a no-kid Superbowl party. They wanted to know how late I can stay out...so I have to call them later today.....They will probably get until 10 at night.
I really wouldn't do this to little Jackson....hehe
Today is the first day of the rest of my life! I've always wanted to say that! Hehe...that wasn't very funny, was it? Oh, well....anyways....Today is the first day that I played Hockey!!!! I liked it, sot of....but I wasn't very good. I told my friends that this is the first school with a hockey team that I've been to and they all dropped their mouths and said: "What?"...it was very dramatic. So for some reason they they told me to stand on a red circle by the goalie. I didn't even know what to do! They were all yelling for me to do something and i'm all like "What?" and everything. I new the concept of the game but I didn't know the rules. Soon though they switched me out of the red circle which apparently was Defense and told me to go into the action. See we were on our tennis shows so it was difficult. But anyways, I won't bore you with the details but I didn't do anything spectacular. At least I have 6 more days of Hockey to learn better! Then off to Swimming.....
This is me getting squished
Today in first hour English, my teacher, Mrs. Wood, announced about this conference in Virginia MN ,which is about 1 hour or more from here, it's for young artists and young authors. [http://www.nesc.k12.mn.us/ed_services/enrich/yaya/]YA/YA Conference is for us teens to help us with art and writing. I'm pretty sure I'll be going, and I'm extremely excited. It's on March 14 which is pretty far away but I get to miss that friday becasue I have to leave at 7am sharp and it starts at 9am and ends at 2pm so I'll probably be back to ride the bus, but it's awesome because i actually get to meet accomplished authors!!! How cool is that? Way cool! Of course I don't know what authors but I really don't care; they're AUTHORS!!!!
There are two new episodes of Chuck on tonight. Which is cool...so I'll be watching that. In other news, I started 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher..it's good so far...I can't wait to finish it!
So I just remebered I have to babysit on Saturday for like two hours. The girl, Wendy, is pregnant and is due around March or April is what i think, I haven't asked. I babysat their little 16 month old on New Years Eve for 5-6 hours, that was my first paying job. Jackson is only 16 months old but he is so adorable and well-behaved. He is so easy to babysit. When I first babysat with Jackson I was there around 6:30 pm and I played with him for about 2 hours then he went to bed at 8:30-9 pm then I had from then to 1 am New Years to watch TV or read, whatever. It was really good, an easy 30 bucks.
I went to the library after school today and got three books that I have been anxiously waiting.
The first one is Bloom by Elizabeth Scott v v v
Lauren has a good life: decent grades, great friends, and a boyfriend every girl wants. So why is she so unhappy?
It takes the arrival of Evan Kirkland for Lauren to figure out the answer: she’s been holding back. She’s been denying herself many things because staying with her loyal and gorgeous boyfriend, Dave, is the “right” thing to do. After all, who would give up the perfect guy?
But as Dave starts talking more and more about their life together, planning a future Lauren simply can’t see herself in – and as Lauren’s craving for Evan, and moreover, who she is with Evan becomes all the more fierce – Lauren realizes she needs to make a choice… before one is made for her.
It sounds like my type of book.....anyway the next one is:
13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher v v v
Clay Jenkins returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers 13 cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion.
I read the prologue already and it was good and I heard rave reviews so I am pretty excited to read this book.
The finale one is:
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen v v v
Last year, Annabel was "the girl who has everything"—at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf ’s Department Store. This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong. Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.
I've read this book 3 times before and this is my absolute favorite book in the world!!! Srah Dessen is my favorite author. I love all her books but this is the best. I highly recommend it!
The Moment of Truth is on tonight and it sounds really good. I feel like watching people tell the truth with thier family present wich could tare the family apart. It makes me feel good about myself for some odd and weird reason.
So, I had a nice day, well as happy as you can getting back from the first-day-after-a-4-day-weekend. Anyway, in History we were paired up with someone else to do a History Bee as my teacher calls it and the person that I got paired up with is the worst! I mean she's an eighth grader in a seventh grade class!! Her name is Maggie and I am really mad. So I am smart, I shouldn't have to do all the work and let her get credit for it. This happened before when I got paired up with her another time, she didn't get credit for the assingment because she wouldn't go up in front of the class for a minute to say nothing. She really isn't very smart, and I'm not one to say something like that but I mean she didn't even know where North America was on a globe....
My computer class was good though. I have a good seat, and I love the people in the class, I've always been good on the computer, too. We are going to be making webpages this year sometime, so I'm looking forward to that. Then I have health and gym, health on Tuesday and Thursday and Gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So tomorrow were going to play kickball, then on Friday were going into the Arena to play some ice hockey. Let me tell you something, having only living in Minnesota for about 3 years and my old school south from here but still in Minnesota we did not have a ice arena, so the only time i've ever been on ice was when I was about 5 and I was at a birthday party, I had to hold on to the wall the hole time....I'm a bit scared, aparrently It's really hard to play hockey with your shoes on on ice. My brother would know. So, now that I'm in High School (mines 7th grade through 12th grade) I have to change in front of my classmates, see I'm not used to that, so I'm a little nervous.
American Idol is on tonight, but I have DVR so I watch it after it's recorded so I can skip the crazy people. I can't wait until they get in Hollywood.
I just heard on the radio that Heath Ledger is dead in New York. Aparently there were drugs on the scene. I tell yay, these celebrity's and Drug Overdose's. I only like two of Heath's movies but it's still sad. I but there are a million girls out there that worship Heath, and I feel sad for them, and Heaths family and friends, of course.
To Heath! And The Girls Who Worship Him!!!
From 10 Things I Hate About You
So, Kyle XY was good, nothing really happened between Lori and Declan but I had forgotten about Josh and Andy! So cute, they are really sweet together! I felt that it was a little weird this episode, you know a little vibe. Whatever, I am still going to watch the rest of the season.
Now, I am watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which is good. It takes place right after the second Terminator movie, which I didn't see, but this new series is quite good, exciting really. Plus, Thomas Dekker is cute. Uh, just saw the last scene of the show and was it disgusting!
So, now I have to go and vacuum upstairs and go to bed, the new semester starts tomorrow. Fun Fun Fun!
I just started this account because I want to be a writer when I grow up and all writers say you should keep a journal....so here I am.
I am pretty much going to talk about stuff I like, school, the wheather and just daily stuff in my life....so....
I live in International Falls and this past week has been the coldest yet.....in the negative 20's I believe. Burrr!
Last Thursday was the end of the first semester in my school. Which means no more Art or Music and I now have Computers and Gym(Uhh!). So anyway....my grades are great....all A's one B+ in Music but I hated that class and I won't ever have to take it again anyways, so I'm FREE from music! WooHooo!!! See, I'm more of an Art girl....I've always hated Music, even in grade school.
So, the second episode of the new season of Kyle XY is on in 45 minutes and I cannot WAIT!! I love this show! Jessi is supposed to srew up somehow....I never really liked Jessi. Anyway, I can't wait to find out if something happens with Lori and Declan.
I have not felt up to writng my book this past 4-day weekend. I just wrote about a half of a chapter...not much I know but last weekend I wrote four chapters, so that makes up for it, right?
So tomorrow I'm going to the library to pick up a book I put on reserve, Bloom by Elizabeth Scott. I heard it was really good and it is the type of book I like to read, so why wouldn't it be good?
So, I'm checking each and every day on Stephenie Meyer's website waiting to find a bunch of actors pictures with their role in the new movie Twilight. I cannot wait for it!! Gahhh! I am so excited!
oh, well, I think that is it for my first post.
Until next time.
